Getting Started!

My Supply List:

  1. Wood Burning Tool
  2. TWO Cedar Planks (one for practice)
  3. Transfer Paper
  4. Sand Paper
  5. Pencil
  6. Varnish (optional)

So my goal for this project is to successfully burn this design that I drew onto this plank of wood! It might be hard to make it out in this picture, but if you look closely, you will see 3 deer and our last name, Lueddeke, incorporated into the branches of the trees.

I found this tool at Michael’s for $30. Mine came with several attachments for different wood burning techniques, but you can get a more basic one for cheaper. Mine even came with stuff to do soldering, which is pretty neat.

Wood Burning- Tony’s Birthday Gift

Welcome to my first ever craft blog project! Please bare with me as I learn how to best build my entries and become more efficient.

First, let me disclaim that I have NEVER used Wood Burning as a medium before. But I really wanted to make my husband something thoughtful, unique and challenging for his Birthday this year (Nov 3rd). So I will be broadcasting my first attempt at this, giving you a peek into my learning process. This is somewhat of a vulnerable undertaking, being that I have no idea if my project will even come out the way it’s intended to… But, here it goes anyway! Hopefully the result will be worthy enough to be a gift.

I intend to start this in the next day or two as I am cutting it close on time to complete, so feel free to follow me if you are interested in the real-time work in progress. Should be interesting…

My Wedding… My Brand in Full Spectrum

Like most brides, I wanted the theme of my wedding to capture my personality and express my style. I accomplished this through a pallet of lavenders and purples, mismatched paper patterns, sheer fabrics, whimsical accents, and a touch of shabby-chic. These projects stylized full-spectrum the inner-most characteristics of my personal brand.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t blogging at the time I was planning my wedding, so I didn’t capture a lot of my wedding-related projects, however I want to compile what I can here, if only for my own personal journaling purposes. That said, as my fellow craft-crazy counterparts know, there are always TONS of post-wedding projects to be done, so I will be contributing those to this forum as I get around to them as well.
